miss saigon is piece of art that is relevant across all times and nationalities. even if it was set in a different period, i was able to relate to it. love knows no race or time. everyone can understand the power of love that chris and kim had for each other.
this play made me realize that we cannot judge that vietnamese ladies who at that time needed to survive in a war-torn country. we cannot judge the offsprings that were conceived at that time either from love or lust. this did not happen only in vietnam. it is a reality even in other countries, too.
this play which is set in the vietnam war tells us that love and courage is possible in the midst of hate and fear.
